Benefits of OraVerse for Dental Patients

Toronto, Canada, October 14, 2015 – Princeview Dental (www.PrinceviewDental.com), one of Etobicoke’s local dental clinics, is weighing in on the benefits of OraVerse, a medication that can decrease patients’ recovery time following dental procedures.

OraVerse is a FDA-approved medication that reverses numbness up to twice as quickly in patients following dental procedures. It is the only dental anesthesia reversal agent that has been made available for use.

“For many patients, numbness following dental procedures is a common complaint and annoyance,” says Dr. Janice Mummery founder of Princeview Dental. “Numbness from anaesthesia can linger for a period of time, causing difficulties with simple things like smiling, speaking, or eating and drinking.”

With an average of nine out of 10 adults having cavities, dental procedures using anaesthesia are commonly performed. The lingering effects of numbness can lead to delays in resuming work, school, and regular routines. “When numbness persists for a few hours or more, it can put a halt to a person’s day,” says Dr. Mummery. “A lot of patients end up having to take the day off work or cancel plans, simply because they are unable to speak properly. Drooling is also a common problem that can be very embarrassing.”

OraVerse works by counteracting the effects of anaesthesia. When a dental practitioner applies OraVerse during the treatment, patients see a drastic reduction in their recovery time.

“In most cases, the time it takes a patient to get back to normal is about twice as fast,” notes Dr. Mummery. “Although in some instances, recovery has been even faster. This means that shortly after leaving the dental clinic, a patient can expect to feel completely normal and have full function.”

Dr. Mummery concludes by noting that she offers OraVerse as an option in her practice and says it has been well received: “For people who need to get back to work or daily life, it is a really effective and affordable option. Often, in the time it takes you to get back to the office, you can have a full return of function. For my patients who are busier, it is an option I recommend they consider.”

Princeview Dental provides services for patients who are suffering from dental emergencies in Toronto, as well as regular oral care. For more information, visit www.PrinceviewDental.com.
